Caldarera Blasts Malliotakis For Her Democrat Contributions

“Now we know why she was afraid to debate”

Today, Conservative Republican candidate Joe Caldarera blasted his #nevertrump primary opponent Nicole Malliotakis for her contributions to socialist Mayor Bill De Blasio and her New York State Assembly staffers’ contributions to Hillary Clinton and the Staten Island Democrat Committee and local Democrat candidates.

“Assemblywoman Malliotakis has refused to defend her record and debate me, and now we know why,” said Caldarera. “Malliotakis is pro-abortion, anti-second amendment and #nevertrump and now it’s come to light that she supported the political career of socialist Mayor Bill De Blasio and her taxpayer-paid staff members are supporting Hillary Clinton and the Staten Island Democrat Party.

“Malliotakis has been trying to hide her liberal record this entire campaign, but now we have the receipts and she can’t hide from Republican voters on Tuesday. I am proud to offer Republican primary voters in Staten Island and South Brooklyn the only conservative, pro-life, pro-second amendment, pro-trump choice in the 11th Congressional District Primary.”

While Caldarera is heading into the final days of the primary campaign riding a string of high-profile conservative endorsements, including the NRA, former Staten Island Republican Party Chairman John Antoniello, House Freedom Caucus Member Congressman Gosar, Family-PAC Federal and Republicans for National Renewal, Malliotakis and her employees have been contributing to Democrats for quite some time:

  • Between 2006 and 2010, when Malliotakis was a lobbyist for ConEd, she managed the utility’s PAC and contributed thousands of dollars to socialist Bill De Blasio at a critical time in his career.
  • One of Malliotakis’ Community Liaisons in her Assembly office contributed $2,300 to Hillary Clinton for President.
  • Another Community Liaison in Malliotakis’ Assembly office contributed $1,750 to the Staten Island Democratic Party and multiple local Democrat candidates.

Caldarera concluded, “Nicole Malliotakis was too scared to face me during this campaign because of her liberal #nevertrump record, but she will have to face voters on Tuesday and I am confident they will vote their conscience, vote conservative and vote Caldarera.”
