Freedom Caucus Member Congressman Paul Gosar Endorses Caldarera For Congress

Rep. Gosar: Caldarera is a proud American who loves liberty, supports President Trump and believes in the law

Today, Freedom Caucus Member Congressman Paul Gosar endorsed former prosecutor Joe Calderara in his campaign for Congress in New York’s 11th District.

Rep. Paul Gosar said, “I am pleased that Staten Islanders and Brooklynites have a choice to elect a solid patriot, the descendant of hard working Italian immigrants, and a proven fighter—Joe Caldarera. What a beautiful contrast to the socialist AOC and what a great message to America. Send Joe to Congress and see what a proud American can do who loves liberty, supports President Trump and believes in the law.”

Joe Caldarera said, “I am proud to receive the endorsement of Congressman Paul Gosar! Congressman Gosar is a true Patriot and an important member of the House Freedom Caucus, which is made up of the most conservative representatives in Congress. I look forward to joining the Freedom Caucus next year and continuing my support for President Trump and his agenda in Congress.”

The House Freedom Caucus, made up of roughly 40 conservatives dedicated to changing Washington and holding Republican leadership accountable, gives a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. Its members support open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans.

A born and raised Staten Island native who attended Monsignor Farrell High School, Caldarera is well aware of the concerns that affect Staten Island and South Brooklyn. Specifically, he intends to address the ongoing opioid epidemic plaguing the area, as well as raising awareness about the high rate of autism on Staten Island.

As the son of an NYPD Lieutenant, Caldarera has promised to support law enforcement officials while in Washington. Additionally, Caldarera has made clear he has no designs on a career in political office, unlike his opponent, saying: “I will be loyal to the people of Staten Island and South Brooklyn.” Caldarera is a former prosecutor in the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
