Ensuring Public Safety

I am the son of a retired NYPD Lieutenant and I had the honor of representing the State of New York as an Assistant District Attorney. In my role as an ADA, I prosecuted some of the most heinous offensives including sex crimes and crimes against children. Thanks to the leadership of Republicans employing smart tough on crime strategies we have seen dramatic decreases in crime in New York over the years. Unfortunately, out of touch liberals like Mayor Bill De Blasio with his anti-police policies has put New Yorkers in danger. With the election of President Donald J. Trump, Law Enforcement finally has someone in the White House who has respect for the Constitution and the Rule of Law. When I am in Congress I will do everything I can to be an advocate for the police officers, the firefighters, and other first responders.

Like most Americans and especially New Yorkers, I vividly remember when our city came under attack from radical Islamic terrorists, I recall being worried if I would ever see my father again who was one of the first responders that day. Many others were not as lucky. We must do everything we can to ensure this never happens again. Our military must continue to be the most effective fighting force in the entire world. We must be prepared for emerging geopolitical threats like China and ensure rogue states like Iran and North Korea never become threats to the homeland.

Stop the Opioid Epidemic

We are facing one of the worst drug crises in American history. Last year alone 70,000 Americans lost their lives to drug overdoses. You are now more likely to die from a drug overdose than from firearms or car accidents. This is a big problem where I live on Staten Island. I have lost several friends who I grew up with over the years, so this issue is personal to me. When I am in Congress, this will be one of my top priorities to address and I will do everything in power to ensure we have the resources to take on this challenge head-on.

Securing the Border

My great grandparents and one of my grandparents immigrated here from Italy, and I am grateful that they decided to pursue the American Dream. I support legal immigration, but not illegal immigration.

We need meaningful border security, especially because there is a humanitarian crisis at the Southern Border. Drug and human traffickers were empowered by the Obama Administration, and unfortunately, Democrats have continued to block President Trump from building the wall and modernizing our border control. Congressman Max Rose is one of those Democrats, which is why he must be replaced.

While it may seem far away from us in New York City, we are seeing the consequences of out of control illegal immigration. Routinely illegal immigrants are given special treatment over American citizens in our education, healthcare, and criminal justice systems. Illegal immigrants work outside the law often for less than minimum wage, pricing law-abiding Americans out of work. Even if we deport criminals, because of our porous border, criminals easily return to the United States to re-offend. Enough is enough. This must be fixed immediately. We need to enforce the law, secure our borders, and restore our sovereignty.

Supporting our President

Donald Trump has been subject to unfair attacks since the day he announced his run for the Presidency. I am proud to say I supported him on Day One and I am proud to see a fellow New Yorker in the White House. Only someone like President Trump could have withstood the constant Fake News thrown at him.

Since President Trump’s inauguration, America is winning again. Our economy is booming, our country is safer, and we’re just getting started. I support President Trump’s America First Agenda, and when I am in Congress, President Trump will have another loyal ally.

Finding Solutions for Autism

Staten Island has one of the highest rates of autism in the country. I have three very loved family members who are autistic. I will be a fierce advocate for securing funding for research as well as support for programs to help autistic persons and their families based in their home communities. As a Congressman, I want to ensure that we investigate what is causing this to happen and incentivize our best doctors and scientists to come up with solutions.

Protecting Life

All life is worth protecting, especially those incapable of defending themselves. I believe life begins at conception. Albany has unfortunately gone radically far-left on this issue and has passed legislation allowing abortion even at nine months near birth. I will support any legislation that will reduce the number of abortions in this country, I oppose abortion except in cases of rape, incest, or if the life of the Mother is in danger.

Protecting the Constitution

When I was sworn in to serve as an Assistant District Attorney, I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution and I meant it. I take a textualist approach to the Constitution and believe that the Constitution means exactly what it states. Constitutional Rights we take for granted like Free Speech and the Right to Bear Arms are under attack from the radical left.

Public colleges and universities are supposed to be where the free exchange of ideas flourish, not restrictive recruiting grounds for socialists. If a public institution is going to take public funds, then they must be required to follow the Constitution and respect the First Amendment.

I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Our Founding Fathers placed it in the Bill of Rights for our own protection. Gun violence is a great tragedy and should be addressed but Career politicians in Albany have passed feel-good measures like the NY SAFE Act which do nothing to prevent gun violence and simply punish law-abiding citizens. This kind of gun control will make it more difficult for a father to defend his home from a burglar, make it more difficult for a young woman to defend herself from a would-be assailant, and only serves to empower criminals over their victims. When I am in Washington, I will stand up for the people of Staten Island and South Brooklyn to defend themselves.
